We have been asked about our Adoption Donation and the fact is it varies. Senior and Special Needs Dogs are $125 or less and German Shepherd Puppies are $450. The average adoption donation is $300. Our dogs and puppies are fully vaccinated or we provide the vaccines through our vet and under her directions in the case of young puppies, they are spayed or neutered as age appropriate or spayed/neutered by our vet when they are old enough, socialized, come with varying degrees of obedience training in English and German,  have a microchip or will get one when appropriate, and we know these animals well so we can tell you the good and bad about each.

BRANDY

Picture
Brandy is just about a year old and looking for her forever home with a person or family that will make a commitment never to leave her and reassure her  of this until she believes it. needs  to be in her crate when her humans leave her.  She is in the Dunnellon foster  home. You can E-mail WeLuvGSDs@gsrfl.com.

CHURCHA

Picture
Churcha is 2-years-old and a real sweetie. I do not think she loves being in a big, noisy foster home and would be happier living with her humans and another dog or two. Churcha is easy going, gets on with everyone and a totally gentle soul. She is a great family dog.

CLARAMOND

Picture
Claramond is a five-year-old St. Bernard that came to our rescue after her owners surrendered her. With us she is excellent with other large dogs amd has been a sweetie. She does love to hog the bed and cop an attitude at times, typical of many St. Bernards. She is frequently seen keeping Patronus company, but her best friend is Grandpa. Claramond is not good with farm animals, cats, small dogs, etc.

DUMBLEDORE

Picture
Dumbledore is about 10-months-old and has Puppy Mange, also known as Demodeptic Mange, the kind that is not catching or contagious. His hair is growing back nicely and he is still undergoing treatment. He is a great family dog, all goofy puppy. You can learn more about Dumbledore by contacting his foster Mom at
WeLuvGSDs@gsrfl.com or call 352-897-5357.

IVY

Picture
Ivy is a 4-year-old German Shepherd Dog/Hound cross. She is excellent with other dogs, doggy door house trained and energetic. Ivy has lived happily with dogs as small as two pounds. We do not know how she is with kitties. Ivy is a good family dog. Her adoption donation is $65.    You can learn more by contacting her foster Mom at Starbabyfl@aol.com. Ivy is in foster home in Lady Lake, FL

JAKE

Picture
Jake is a year and a half to 2-years-old and came to us from a wonderful woman that rescued and rehabilitated him before surrendering him to rescue. He loves to shake on command and knows several other commands. Jake is housetrained and crate trained, although he prefers to sleep out of the crate. You can learn more
about Jake by E-mailing his foster Mom at WeLuvGSDs@gsrfl.com or calling  352-897-5357.

KENNEDY

Picture
Kennedy is four-months-old and a total love. This puppy is the greatest. He is
a Royal Bahamian Potcakes, not German Shepherd Dogs. They are very Shepherd
like and make fabulous companion animals. You can learn more about Potcakes on our website at www.GSRFL.org. Suffice to say these are the ultimate family dogs. He is great with other dogs, large and small, children,
people, kitties, etc. You can learn more about Kennedy by contacting his foster
Mom at WeLuvGSDs@gsrfl.com or call

Lil' Buddy

Picture
Lil' Buddy or affectionately called FUD, is an 8 pound, 9-10 month old Shih
Tzu/Chihuahua mix boy.  His foster home was asked to take him by a friend  because he was running the neighborhood and the neighbors were afraid that he would get hit by a car or killed by a larger animal. He was released by his previous owners and came into rescue.  Buddy is a loving, happy boy that gets along well with all dogs, big and small.  He does tend to have that barky
chihuahua attitude, thinking he is a German Shepherd, and is a little shy of   strangers until he gets used to new people.  He loves to cuddle and be with his  person all the time, if possible.  Buddy would be best in a home with no small children as he was ormented in his previous home by small children and he does
not trust them at all.  He is crate trained and up to date on his shots.

SELENA

Picture
Selena is a sweet, happy
girl 2-year-old girl that is looking for a new home. She and her puppies were   abandoned in an empty house by their family when they moved out and didn't take  mom or babies. We were called to help rescue her and her puppies. The puppies
have all found homes and now she is ready to start a new life. Selena is a   playful and loving. She is a bit shy and it does take a while for her to warm  up  to new people. She seems to like women but has quickly warmed up to her  foster  dad so she is learning to trust again. Selena currently lives with many
other  dogs, big and small, but because of her playful nature and need of a  larger  playmate, she will only be placed with a larger playmate and in a home  with a  fenced in yard. She is crate trained and house broken using the dog door
with no  issues at all. Selena definitely deserves a good home where she can  live the  rest of her life and never have to worry about being abandoned like yesterday's  trash.
To set up  a meet a greet with Selena after you get an approval E-mail card please  contact  her foster Mom.

Whisper

Picture
Whisper is a seven-year-old male we recently rescued from OCAS. His owner chose to surrender Whisper when the county contacted the owner because of his horrendous condition. Whisper has significantly hair loss, is extremely thin, and heartworm positive. He deserves a heck of a lot more than he has gotten thus far from humans.

G. CALLAN

Picture
G. Callan is a member of our NCIS: LA team and came to rescue on 12/07/12/. We'd like to spend some more getting to know him before we say too much. We can tell you we have him crate trained and he gets along with other dogs. Too soon to know about kitties. Right now he has kennel cough, a heart murmur and a possible ACL tear that may have to be surgically repaired at a cost of $1200. We'll keep you updated as Callan. He also has a Grade I Heart Murmur and is Heartworm Positive. This lovely dog just can't catch a break. You can E-mail WeLuvGSDs@gsrfl.com. G. Callan is not ready to leave rescue. He does need ongoing financial
  support.

HALF PINT

Picture
Half Pint is just that half German Shepherd Dog and half Australian Cattle   Dog or Blue Tick Heeler. She is super sweet. Loves to play with the dogs and   puppies. Is housebroken and hates the crate. Thankfully she is not destructive in the house.  She is in the Dunnellon foster home. You can E-mail WeLuvGSDs@gsrfl.com.
If you are interested in meeting Half Pint or any of the dogs and puppies in our rescue then please go to our website www.GSRFL.org and complete the Adoption Application to start the process of adoption. Thank you.

KENO

Picture
Keno, a  year old, is an awesome pup. He is coming into his brains slowly. His obedience training is going well and he loves playing Jolly Ball. Keno sleeps on the bed at night when he is not in a crate with a friend. He is a typical Mali and really good with children.
Please go to our website www.GSRFL.org and complete the adoption application if you are interested in meeting Keno. Also, you can contact his foster Mom by E-mail at WeLuvGSDs@gsrfl.com.

Missy

Picture
Missy, a 1 to 2-year-old,  came to us from the Bahamas. She is a total love and a happy puppy. This girl is energetic and loves to run and play. Missy has a genetic joint issue in her rear left leg that does not stop her one bit. Her leg locks at times and she just keeps going.  She loves to play with the other dogs and is great at cuddling. Missy is a sweetie. You can E-mail her foster Mom at Starbabyfl@aol.com or WeLuvGSDs@gsrfl.com.

Obie Wan

Picture

Obie Wan is another awesome 7-year-old boy that is a serious dog. He formerly was hand shy from former abuse. Obie spends most of his time at his mistress' side watching over her. He is definitely an inside companion animal. Obie has a mangled left ear from a hemotoma he had before coming to rescue. Obie doesn't play with toys instead just assigns himself to his mistress. In other words he is a total and complete love and available only to an experienced German Shepherd Dog handler. He is living at Dancing Dog Farm, Summerfield, FL. You can learn more about him by contacting his foster Mom at WeLuvGSDs@gsrfl.com.

PAIGE

Picture
Paige  is  a four-year-old girl that can have a strong will. She came to rescue very  thin  and has filled out nicely. Paige is crate trained, housebroken and good  with  children and adults. She plays with other dogs and puppies. Please go to  our  website www.GSRFL.org and complete the  Adoption  Application if you want to meet Paige.

PATRONOUS

Picture
Patronous is 8-year-old Saint Bernard and surrendered by his owner when her new boyfriend didn't like Patronous. We changed his name when he came to rescue to give him a new life, one where he knows he is loved and valued. Patronous is house trained and we have never had a need to put him in a crate. He does sleep on his foster Mom's bed at night and at 112-pounds (he needs to gain a little weight) it is very crowded up there with his foster brothers and sisters. Foster Mom gets about four inches of bed at night. LOL. And loves all the great cuddles. Unfortunately, his former owner shaved him we think because of flea dermititis and he is still growing out. Shaving a a noble St. Bernard is not in the dogs best interest. We are listing him as having a medium length coat because we honestly don't know if it will be medium or long. Patronous is only available to someone with a fenced yard so he is safe when he goes outside to take care of business. Patronous as yet does not know how to use the doggy door so his foster Mom serves as his doorman. Patronous is also excellent with children and loves playing with them. She would be happiest in a family with at least one other dog and children. To set up a meet a greet with Patronous you need to first fill out the Adoption Application at www.GSRFL.org. For more information you can contact his foster Mom at WeLuvGSDs@gsrfl.com.

SAM HANNA

Picture
Sam  Hanna is a member of our NCIS: LA team and came to rescue on 12/07/12/. We'd like to spend some more getting to know him before we say too much. We can tell you we have him crate trained and he gets along with other dogs. Too soon to know about kitties. Sam warms quickly to women and does not like men even a little bit. Therefore, we would like to place him with only women. He cuddles with his foster Mom and loves sleeping on the bed. We'll keep you updated. He is  in the Dunnellon foster home. You can E-mail WeLuvGSDs@gsrfl.com

SHADOW

Picture
If you would like to meet Shadow please go to our website at www.GSRFL.org and complete the Adoption Application.
Shadow is a four year old and very calm. She is easy going and barks when strangers come around. She is excellent with other dogs and children, not to mention adults. She reliably house trained and does not need a crate. Shadow is an angel. Her foster Mom may be reached at WeLuvGSDs@gsrfl.com
