Ivy is a 3-year-old German Shepherd Dog/Hound cross. She is excellent with other dogs, doggy door house trained and energetic. Ivy has lived happily with dogs as small as two pounds. Shyla is a sweet, gentle 11- year-old girl who loves everyone and is just a joy to have in the family. She is a product of the economy as her family lost their home and jobs and couldn't keep her. She loves everyone she meets and especially loves babies and small children. Shyla is one of the dogs we take to meet and greets because she is so easy and does so well with other dogs and people. Shyla is house broken and doesn't need a crate to be comfortable in her home. She would be fine as an only dog but can live with big or small dogs and possibly cats. She loves to play ball and go in the car. Shyla is adored in her foster home and is looking for a home where she will be loved and doted on for the rest of her life. Zeus II is a 10 year old boy that was returned to rescue due to the economic downturn. He was adopted in 2007 and brought back to rescue when his adoptive mom had to leave the state to travel with her work. Zeus is a very nice, quiet dog that doesn't ask for much except a warm, soft bed and some love on a regular basis. He would much rather be an only dog but would live perfectly fine with small dogs. He seems to prefer them to the big dogs in rescue. He could probably live with cats as long as they stayed out of his food bowl. Zeus is house broken as long as he is kept on a routine. He is the perfect gentleman in the house and doesn't offer to get on the furniture or counter surf. Zeus would like nothing more than to live out the rest of his life with his own person who will dote on him and give him all the love he deserves. BB, came to us as another Bella and she now answered to BB. She is maybe just a year old, sweet as the day is long, good with other dogs, cats, children and not wild about cows. BB plays well and is a real sweetie to have around. Her obedience is coming along nicely and she comes every time she is called. Bahama Momma came to us as Shelly from the Grand Bahamas. She came with two puppies who have been adopted and she has been spayed. Therefore she is ready for her forever home. Momma is excellent with puppies and has been mothering our three motherless GSD puppies currently in rescue. She also gets on well with the adult dogs in her foster home. Han Solo is now 8-months-old and just got a clean bill of help from our vet. That's right Han is one healthy happy puppy. Right now he is plays well with the other large and small dogs in rescue. He has his favorites as you can see on our videos on Facebook - German Shepherd Rescue of Central Florida page. We are now working on his obedience. Han has played with the kitties in his foster home and while he never hurts them he does love to chase them even in the house. Han is not a high energy puppy after a round of play. He is content to take a nap.
All the puppies are kept in the house with their foster Mom and are doggy door potty trained and get on well with the other dog in their foster home. All puppies adopted from our rescue are required to successfully complete Basic Obedience with a CERTIFIED TRAINER.

Okay, we admit it, it's a goofy name and he got it from a Petco employee when we took him in to get his no pull harness. Handsome has to have a harness because he had an embedded collar requiring surgery to remove it, plus he was close to starved when he was rescued. Then he found us and the world changed. Handsome is a country unto himself. He loves barking at other dogs, getting snuggles from his foster Mom and has not food aggression at the community bowl. Of course he prefers to be in the house than in the doggy condo, but then don't all the dogs. Harley is probably nine-years-old at least. He hind quarters are getting very weak.We keep him comfortable with medication. He is a gorgeous giant of a dog that frequently growls then decides if he has been offended. This boy is not a dog for a beginning German Shepherd Dog owner. He is great with other large dogs and a little too interested in small dogs hence the unknown choice on his profile. We will not put him in a home with small dogs. He showed no interest in the cat at one of our foster homes, but we cannot say for certain how he would be with a cat. Harley had a tough life before coming to rescue. He is crate trained, doggy door housetrained and very loving with his humans. He doesn't start fights with the other GSDs in his pack instead is a low energy boy content to be on a doggy bed while his foster Mom works. Missy came to us from the Bahamas. She is a total love and a happy puppy. Missy has a genetic joint issue in her rear left leg that does not stop her one bit. Her leg locks at times and she just keeps going.  She loves to play with the other dogs and is great at cuddling. Missy is a sweetie.

Nikki is a 18-months-old and picks and chooses which male dogs he likes. He is excellent with females. We are working on his liking all the males in our pack and you can see from our videos we've made great success. Nikki is a great cuddler on the bed and is well crate trained, although he does take offense at being put to bed.  

Obie Wan is another awesome 4-year-old boy that is a serious dog. He is hand shy from former abuse. Obie spends most of his time at his mistress' side watching over her. He is definitely an inside companion animal. Obie has a mangled left ear from a hemotoma he had before coming to rescue. Obie doesn't play with toys instead just assigns himself to his mistress. In other words he is a total and complete love and available only to an experienced German Shepherd Dog handler. He is living at Dancing Dog Farm, Summerfield, FL. Thor is hilarious and he loves to play.When he first came to rescue he loved to jump on his foster Mom's back. Thor is much better behaved now and would do great with an active family. Thor plays well in the pack and sometimes likes to pick playfully at his brothers. Thor is about two-years-old and eager for a new forever family. 

Selena’s puppy Tilli is now 11-weeks-old (born Nov. 24, 2011) and ready to leave rescue. Selena and her litter came to us from Kissimmee, FL where they were abandoned in a house without food or water when the owners moved out. Thankfully a neighbor heard Selena and got her and her precious babies to safety. Selena is a purebred German Shepherd Dog and Tilli's father is a red sable Corgi. She is all herding dog. Tilli can keep up with Mya, a Belgian Malinois, Jec, a Dutch Shepherd, and Bahama Momma, a German Shepherd Dog, when the three marauders go out to play. Tilli is one awesome, balanced, happy puppy.  Tilli is parasite free and has her first two puppy vaccines. She still need two more vaccines and must be spayed/neutered between four and six months of age and receive her first rabies vaccine. Our adoption donation includes all the vaccines and the spay/neuter at our clinic. All puppies from our rescue are required to successfully complete basic obedience with a Certified Trainer. The successful adopters must have a fenced yard and the puppies must be inside companion animals. Sherman is a senior and came to after his owners abandoned him in a home in Miami, FL that was being foreclosed. He was left alone for some time. When he was finally rescued his coat was so dirty and matted the groomer was forced to shave him. Then what was thought to be a fatty tumor was discovered. We had the tumor removed when he was neutered. The tumor turned out to be Grade II Mast Cell. Right now he is tumor free and feeling well. Advanced testing indicated it is unlikely he will have a reoccurrence. Our vet has all the medical reports and of course they will be provided to his adopter. Sherman is a fabulous dog, loving, good with the pack and just all around easy to be with and around.
